What is a Citizens Congress?
In 2002, leaders sought to engage the public on how to redevelop Ground Zero in New York City.
In 2005 and 2006 leaders sought to bring citizens together to decide on priorities for the recovery of New Orleans after hurricane Katrina.

In 2008, California lawmakers needed to change the way the state managed it's healthcare policy and wanted to hear from diverse voices throughout the state.
In 2009, community leaders needed community input to help envision the future of Prince George's County, Maryland.
In each of these cases and many more like it, leaders and policy makers turned to a well-established and highly regarded process called called a Community Congress to allow diverse voices to make a respected contribution to the policy decisions effecting our lives.
In Our Denver Metropolis, Candidate Marcus Giavanni believes that the time has come for Denver policy makers to incorporate the concerns of constituents in an unprecedented way. Candidate Giavanni will bring an annual Community Congress to Denver, and will champion the people's priorities.
